Privacy
What this petition collects, who sees it, how long it is kept, and how to remove your signature.
What is collected
- Your first and last name, email, ZIP code, optional neighborhood, whether you live, work or visit here, and your optional comment.
- The time you signed and your browser's user agent.
- A one-way scrambled code made from your internet address with a secret key, used only to limit repeat submissions. Your internet address itself is never stored.
Who sees what
- Anyone: your first name, last initial, neighborhood or the first three digits of your ZIP, the date, and your comment, on the signers page, plus the totals.
- The officials named in the petition: your name, ZIP or neighborhood and comment, in a printed delivery packet with counts by neighborhood.
- Greg Spero, the organizer: the full record, including email, to check for duplicates and prepare that packet.
- Nobody else. The list is never sold, rented or shared with a campaign, party or vendor.
This site sends no email at all. You will hear from Greg Spero about council votes only if you checked the optional updates box.
How long it is kept
Emails and the scrambled address codes are deleted 12 months after the petition is delivered to the council, or sooner when the campaign ends. Names and neighborhoods stay in the public record of the delivery.
Where it is stored
On Cloudflare, in a database used only for this petition.
Remove your signature
Enter the email you signed with and the removal code from your thank-you screen. Without the code, your name comes off the public list now and the record is deleted after the organizer checks.
